Trinidad is one of the most beautiful places in the world, an historic seaside village overlooking Trinidad harbor, with quiet beaches, a pier, harbor, walking trail around Trinidad head, and Scenic drive, a meandering coastal road along one of the most picturesque coastlines anywhere. The seaside village is small, with about 60 homes, each a short walk to Indian Beach, Trinidad State Beach, and Trinidad Head, and only 5-15 homes come on the market each year. The surrounding areas are also incredibly beautiful, with Patricks Point State Park on the northern boundary, and Camel Rock/Houda Point/Moonstone beach in Westhaven to the south. Homes here range from 400,000 cottages in town, to 1-2 million for homes on or overlooking the ocean. There are also a wide variety of homes within a mile or two of the town center, homes on acreage, homes overlooking the ocean, with a more rural private woodsy feel. Homes within a short distance to town range in price between 400,000 for a nice home on 1/4-1/2 acre, to 1-2 million for a home with an acre to 5 acres on the ocean on Patricks Point Drive or Stagecoach Road.
Since Trinidad is so incredibly beautiful, many families and residents are willing to commute a short distance, 15-20 minutes, to Arcata, or 30 minutes to Eureka. Our family home was in Trinidad until recently moving to Arcata to be closer to our daughters activities. We loved everything about Trinidad and greatly enjoyed going to all the incredible beaches, hiking on Trinidad Head, kayaking/crabbing in the bay, surfing at Camel Rock, and going to Seascape restaurant twice a week next to the Trinidad Pier. We love Trinidad and will be heading there shortly as I write this.
